UCONN head coach Dan Hurley got spotted unleashing an NSFW remark during a college basketball game on Tuesday night.
The two-time NCAA national champion coach opened up about the sequence after the Huskies’ 80-78 overtime win over Butler.
With UConn up 37-27 and 2:58 left in the first half, the Huskies came up with a defensive rebound before turning the ball over.
Hurley thought there was a foul on the rebound and complained to the referee about the decision during the TV timeout at the XL Center.
However, the official ignored Hurley, who wouldn’t be pleased and sent him a quote revealed on the FS1 broadcast.
“Don’t turn your back on me,” Hurley shouted.
“I’m the best coach in the f***ing sport.”
After the game, Hurley said he wanted more “communication” from officials.
Then, he shared a complaint about how often the TV cameras show him during contests.
“I just wish they put the camera on the other coach more,” Hurley said, per ESPN. “… I just wish they would show these other coaches losing their minds at the officials in other Big East Games that I’m coaching where … I’m not talking to officials; I see the other coaches as demonstrative as I am.
“But the camera, obviously … I’ve created this for myself.
“I’m not the victim.”
UConn led by 15 during the first half and entered the second half with an eight-point lead.
However, Butler erased a nine-point deficit in the final 6:50 of the game and was up by two points before Alex Karaban made a jumper with 1:43 left sending the game to overtime at 68.
The Huskies came on top for the two-point victory.
UConn is currently ranked No. 19 in the AP, but they had struggled earlier this season.
At one point, they lose three straight contests.
The Huskies have now won 10 in their last 12 games.
The latest victory moved them to 14-5.
Hurley and the UConn squad will face Xavier on Saturday night.
