AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are investigating a homicide at a gas station parking lot in downtown Austin.
Officers responded to a call around 3:05 a.m. regarding a man with a gun at the Citgo gas station on 7th Street, according to the Austin Police Department. Officers found a man with possible gunshot wounds inside a vehicle in the parking lot. He later died at a hospital.
APD said detectives were interviewing witnesses, and one person was detained but not in police custody at the time.

Police are investigating the death as Austin's third homicide of 2025.
