PATRICK Mahomes has shared an unusual health update on a certain part of his body.
The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback, 29, made the announcement ahead of the team’s Divisional Round playoff game with the Houston Texans on Saturday.
Over the years, NFL fans have noticed the three-time Super Bowl MVP Mahomes has worn a mysterious mouthguard during NFL games.
There have been plenty of theories about the mouthpiece, and Mahomes made sure to break his silence on social media, revealing that he has a partnership with the straightening-teeth brand Invisalign.
“Setting the record straight. Yes, it’s an Invisalign. Excited to officially by joining Team Invisalign,” Mahomes wrote on Instagram on Thursday.
Recently, Mahomes spoke to Adweek and said that his endorsement deal with Invisalign helps him with a dental condition.
“As an athlete, I’m always focused on optimizing my performance and health, so when it came time for me to choose how to improve my smile, it was clear that Invisalign aligners were the right choice for me over traditional braces,” he said.
Mahomes joined the Invisalign Smile Squad as an ambassador for the company in a multi-year deal.
During his early years in the NFL, he was famous for having a gap between his teeth.
The condition has since been fixed and Mahomes heaped praise for Invisalign, admitting the product helped his teeth look.
“It’s funny how much speculation there’s been about something as simple as my aligners,” Mahomes said.
“Invisalign is a product that has made a real difference for me, and I wanted to pass that along to others, so the partnership came together pretty naturally.”
“I’ve been using their product for a while because it’s helped me feel more confident without it being too noticeable or affecting my day-to-day routine.
“When we started talking, it just made sense to team up and share that story. It’s great to work with a brand that aligns with who I am and helps me inspire others to feel good about themselves, too.”
Mahomes has only added to his sponsorship list which includes deals with State Farm, Subway, and T-Mobile.
