Lidia fire burns 50 acres in Acton on Wednesday

Another brush fire broke out Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 8, in Acton, to the northeast of Santa Clarita.

Firefighters responded to the Lidia fire around 1 p.m. to the 5700 block of Soledad Canyon Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

By 2:30 p.m., the fire had grown to 50 acres. Officials earlier estimated the fire was burning between five and seven acres around 2 p.m.

A Sig Alert was issued by the California Highway Patrol, closing Soledad Canyon Road between Agua Dulce Canyon Road and Crown Valley Road.

Firefighting aircraft were dispatched and the Fire Department has requested additional crews.

Structures are threatened because of the fire, but the Fire Department couldn’t specify how many.

Fire officials called Metrolink to inform the agency not to run trains on railroads in the area as crews work to extinguish the blaze, KCAL reported.

    No injuries have been reported.

Crews are battling the Lidia fire along with several other wildfires fueled by Santa Ana winds across the Los Angeles metro area, including the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst fires.
