DENVER (KDVR) — More chilly temperatures are in Denver’s weather forecast alongside chances for snow for the upcoming week.

There is a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day on Tuesday for snow coming into the metro area.

Denver will get around 2 to 5 inches of snowfall on Monday night and into Tuesday, meanwhile, the southern Front Range and foothills will see around 3 to 6 inches of snow.

Weather today: Sunny start but chances for snow

Monday will start mainly sunny, however, winter weather advisories are in place in some areas.

As high temperatures climb to the upper 30s, clouds will increase ahead of the chance for snow showers.

The snow is expected to fall toward Monday night.

Weather tonight: Snow starts

Snow starts Monday night after dinnertime as lows drop back down into the upper teens and lower 20s.

Winds will be out of the northeast anywhere from 5 to 15 mph.

Looking ahead: Cold temperatures and snow chances

Snow showers will continue Tuesday afternoon before tapering off by Tuesday evening.

Sunshine returns Wednesday but it will be chilly with high temperatures only climbing to the 30s.

Then, another chance for snow showers moves in on Thursday.

Friday will be sunny and more seasonal at the end of the week, with temperatures climbing to the 40s.

Then, chilly weather hangs around through the weekend.
