With the Farmers Insurance Open set to be played Jan. 22 through Jan. 25, more continue to throw their name into the pot to compete at the tournament at Torrey Pines Golf Course.
Among the recent commits is two-time major winner Collin Morikawa, who came out on top in the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship.
There will also be more San Diego ties in the tournament with recent name entries.
Charley Hoffman, who attended Poway High School, committed to play in the tournament. Hoffman is a four-time PGA TOUR and won most recently at the 2016 Valero Texas Open.
More golfers with San Diego ties include Michael Kim, Cavin McCall and J.J. Spaun.
Kim attended Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, McCall is an assistant pro at The Santaluz Club in San Diego, and Spaun attended San Diego State.
There are already many well-known names that have committed to play in the tournament, including the defending champion Matthieu Pavon.
The full field won’t be finalized until Jan. 17. Tickets can be purchased online.
