While Tom Holland may be a frontrunner for Boyfriend of the Year, fans won't see him accompanying Zendaya on the red carpet at any of her premieres. Now, the Marvel star is opening up about the incredibly thoughtful—yet somewhat sad—reasoning behind the decision to meet her quietly inside.
In a new interview for Men's Health, which was unfortunately interrupted by a number of not-so-sneaky fans at New York City's Greenwich Hotel, Holland offered a candid look at fame and fandom, admitting that while he appreciates the love and attention from his fans, it can also feel very confining.

After he sunk into his chair to avoid one woman trying to sneak a photo, he pointed to trips to the theater as another example, having to plan in advance to ensure there's "somewhere private" he can enjoy the show. It's to avoid being swarmed, yes, but even more considerately, he doesn't want to take attention away from the actors on stage.
It's the same reason he leaves Zendaya to go solo during her photo ops: “...because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”

He did say, "cheerfully," according to interviewer Lauren Larson, that he'll "disappear off the face of the earth" when he has kids one day. "...you will not see me in movies anymore." Instead, he will be off golfing and parenting.
