A SEVERELY decomposed body has been found on a stretch of beach – just days after two legs were discovered.
The string of sightings was reported in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, a coastal city popular among A-list celebrities, sparking concern among officials.
A hiker came across a washed-up body on Saturday, cops revealed.
Officers revealed the hiker came across the remains when she was looking down from the top of the cliff, as reported by the CW affiliate KTLA-TV.
Cops suspected the remains had been on the beach for several months before they were discovered.
“It’s in a severe state of decay,” Steve DeJong of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said.
DeJong revealed an investigation had been launched as they tried to establish a cause of death.
They’re probing to see if the person fell or if there was some foul play.
The chilling discovery came just days after two legs were found on a stretch of beach.
One leg was found on Wednesday, while another was discovered a day later.
A femur was also discovered as part of the search, according to police.
The legs were found around four miles from where the hiker spotted the remains by the beach.
The body parts were discovered just days after a search for two fishermen was launched.
They disappeared on Tuesday, sparking an urgent hunt.
Their disappearance came at a time when waves of up to 13 feet were forecast to hit the coastline.
Jake Miller, a lifeguard at the Los Angeles County Fire Department, described the conditions as “hazardous.”

“It’s a dangerous spot for sure,” he told the ABC affiliate KABC-TV.
Search crews were deployed, and drones combed the area.
But low fog meant that officials were not able to fly helicopters.
Police found an overturned boat on the rocks.
Coast Guard officials formally suspended the search after almost 34 hours on Wednesday.
Police have found no evidence that suggests the men are alive.
But they haven’t yet revealed a link that could connect the discovery of the two legs to the fishermen.
And the hiker’s discovery was not related to the search for the fishermen.
The recent sightings were not the only time that body parts were found on a stretch of beach in Palos Verdes.
In November, cops revealed they had found bones and a skull on a stretch of shoreline, as reported by The Los Angeles Times.
At the time, police were not ruling out homicide as they were considering all possibilities.
Rancho Palos Verdes is a popular resort among A-listers.
Eli Morgan, a pitcher for the Chicago Cubs baseball side, is from the city, and late Linkin Park star Chester Bennington also lived there.
