Mechanic reveals five car models ‘guaranteed to last 200k miles’ including popular vehicle that’ll ‘never have an issue’

AN EXPERT mechanic has highlighted six cars he claims are “guaranteed to last 200,000 miles”.

Zach Trahan went viral on TikTok after he shared his a selection of vehicles he believed could stand to test of time.

Trahan (@bevurly) has amassed over 1.6 million views on this clip where he even reveals his own experiences with some of these car models.

His first pick is the Honda Civic, chosen for its long-standing reliability, fuel efficiency, and affordability.

He said: “You could literally pick any one of these, and you will never have an issue up to 200,000 miles.

“Each generation is just as reliable as the last, and that’s why it’s on the list.”

The enduring Civic has had various nameplates since its first release in 1980, although car-search website CoPilot suggests drivers should avoid models from the years 2001, 2003-2005, and 2006-2009 due to issues ranging from frequent recalls to engine problems.

Zach also selected the Toyota Camry, which he describes as an obvious choice.

He said: “You’ve seen it coming from a mile away, and you’re right.

“Every single generation Camry is reliable. You could buy one, and it will go 200,000 miles.

“Even with improper maintenance, I feel like it would still hit 200,000 miles. That’s just how well-built these cars are.”

The Camry, widely loved for its excellent fuel economy, comfortable interior, and driving experience, first appeared in 1979 as a four-door sedan in Japan, known as the Celica Camry.

The Camry later became a model line of its own in 1982 and has been going strong since.

Another unsurprising choice for Zach’s list is the luxury Lexus IS250 or 350.

Indeed, Zach reveals to his viewers that he even once owned one, admitting he didn’t treat it particularly well.

He added: “It didn’t break. You know how many miles it had on it? 260,000. It speaks for itself.”

The Lexus brand is world-renowned for its dependability, with UK-based outlet What Car? naming them the most reliable brand for seven years in a row.

The Honda Accord also made Zach’s list, which he compares to the aforementioned Civic.

Zach said: “These will last you 200,000 miles guaranteed, just like the Civic.

“I prefer the older Accords to the newer ones, but that’s just me.”

The long-standing model, which has run since 1976, is best known for its four-door sedan variant and is a top seller for Honda, with customers recognising the model as a car that lasts.

Zach also points to the Ford Crown Victoria – the first non-Japanese model to make the video – with the car expert even claiming it would make a “300,000-mile list.”

He added: “Look, it’s not the best-looking vehicle, but if you’re looking for something that’s going to last forever, this is it.

“It’s probably going to do it with zero issues as well. These things are indestructible.”

The Crown Victoria, which is widely used by police departments and taxi companies, has been discontinued for quite some time, last rolling off Ford production lines in 2011.

However, in the 13 years since, the model has maintained its reputation for endurance and reliability.
