Keionte Scott is transferring from Auburn after being a starter for the Tigers for the past 3 years, Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of CBS Sports and 247Sports reported on Tuesday afternoon.

Scott’s apparent departure from the Plains would be a double whammy of sorts for Auburn, since the 6-foot, 192-pounder from San Diego was both a defensive back and a return specialist for the Tigers.
But Scott’s production fell off in 2024 from an apparent drop in playing time. Scott had just 18 tackles, 16 of them solo, this season. This came after a 2023 season when he piled up 42 tackles, with a whopping 35 of them solo, and a 2022 season when he made an immediate impact in his first season at Auburn with 53 tackles, 35 solo, 1 sack and 1 interception.
After an underwhelming 3rd season, Scott is reportedly heading elsewhere to get back to the level of production he had in 2022 and 2023. Scott will enter the portal as a graduate transfer and is 1 of many players in college football who will have an extra year of eligibility because of their time spent at a junior college.
