No, this isn't one of RuPaul's slightly terrifying photo shoots. No, this isn't some kind of The Grinch: Live on Ice special. But, yes there are a dozen drag queens (including a very buxom rendition of the Grinch) stumbling around The Rink at Rockefeller Center. That's because RuPaul's Drag Race is coming back for Season 17, and as a part of the promo cycle ahead of its premiere on Jan. 3, 2025, the cast headed to America's most famous ice rink to skate.

And yes, it was every bit as chaotic as one would imagine. Just like the All Stars 8 cast's trip to the Empire State Building or the Season 16 cast's ride on a double-decker tour bus, Season 17's press tour included one delightfully unhinged stop. After swapping their stilettos for ice skates, the queens (screaming, falling, clinging onto Midwestern tourists for dear life) hit the rink for a photo shoot. Kori King, dressed as the Grinch, growled at passersby; Lydia B. Kollins attempted to skate in a floor-length mermaid gown; and Lexi Love weaved in and out of gobsmacked tourists in a Playboy-esque snow bunny ensemble.
When the Zamboni finally booted the queens (in one case, crawling) from the ice, they headed to the Top of the Rock for more photos, and Parade was on hand to witness the mayhem. In between snapping pics with fans and threatening to throw one another off the roof (lovingly, of course), the queens played a round of 20 questions with Parade.
