On Thursday morning, the Chicago Blackhawks activated veteran goaltender Petr Mrázek off IR and assigned Drew Commesso back to the Rockford IceHogs.
Arvid Söderblom was working in the starter’s net at the morning skate ahead of the Blackhawks hosting the Seattle Kraken. Between hosting the Kraken on Thursday night and the Christmas break, the Blackhawks have games in Calgary and Minnesota.
As a reminder: the NHL’s roster freeze goes into effect at 11:59 PM local time tonight. We’ll see if the Blackhawks assign anyone else back to Rockford before the cutoff. Seth Jones and Alec Martinez are working their way back to the lineup. The Blackhawks play in Buffalo on Dec. 27, which is before the roster freeze expires.
