Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are firmly in ‘Last Dance’ territory.
The legendary NFL tight end, who has won the Super Bowl three times since joining the team in 2013, looks all but set to ride off into the sunset next year.
In fact, when the Chiefs were beaten in the big game by the Philadelphia Eagles back in February, there was suggestion that Kelce could call time there and then.
After all, the 35-year-old has already racked up more than 1,000 receptions, 12,151 yards and 80 touchdowns, and has a string of league and franchise records to his name.
But that 40-22 defeat to the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX left a sour taste in Kelce’s mouth, and he’s back for at least one more run.
Before the tight end confirmed his decision to return back in February, his fans and teammates alike were waiting with bated breath.
Even Chiefs wide receiver, Rashee Rice, thought he was finished.
The 25-year-old, who suffered a season-ending injury in Week 4 of the 2024 season, was worried he would never share the field with Kelce again.
“I was real concerned,” Rice told reporter Chancellor Johnson over the weekend.
“I ain’t gonna lie. That’s Trav. Me getting hurt last year was like kind of a wake-up call. I really wanted him to come back.
“(You) kind of realize the guys that you get to play with once it’s all over.”
Much to the delight of Rice, Kelce is back for 2025. And according to quarterback Patrick Mahomes, he’s returned with a great mindset, too.

“The way he’s talking about football, the way he’s talking about working and trying to be even better this year than last year.
“He doesn’t seem like a guy on his last ride, that’s tired of the job.”
Not only is Kelce in a great space mentally, but he is also in great shape physically, too.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs will see a slimmer Kelce when he returns to minicamp this week.
“He’s told people close to him that he’s lost about 25 pounds this offseason,” the reporter said.
Kelce is said to have slimmed down for 2025, and was recently spotted at the NHLGetty“Played a little bit heavier in 2024, sort of a thing. He vowed to change it, and he has.
“This could be the Last Dance. Mid-30s, still a productive player, they want to go to him on third down, but declining a little bit.
“He’s trying to be slimmer and has gone hardcore this offseason to make it work.”
With Kelce returning in good shape and Rice back to full health, Mahomes will have some serious weapons on offense once again in 2025.
Xavier Worthy, Juju Smith-Schuster, Jalen Royals, Marquise Brown and Skyy Moore are also part of Kansas City’s wide receiver corps — with Rice promising ‘a show’ this year.
“We got a lot of guys. We are deep in depth,” he told KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson.
“Wide receiver group, we’re going to be explosive this year. We’re just excited to put on a show to be honest.
“We know it’s gonna be a show. Only thing in the way right now is time, so we’re just waiting patiently.”

Rice, clearly, is desperate to get back on the field in 2025 — and he will be delighted to do it alongside Kelce when Week 1 rolls around.
The Chiefs will kick off their regular season on Friday, September 5, against the Los Angeles Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
