The funds, which were provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety, will support programs that include DUI checkpoints and patrols, presentations to the public on distracted driving, enforcing traffic laws to protect bicyclists and pedestrians, and more. The grant will also help target violations of hands-free cell phone laws and address leading causes of crashes, such as speeding, failure to yield, running stop signs or traffic signals and improper turns or lane changes.
