The first U.S. spacecraft to land on the moon since the Apollo era is still working — but not for long. Intuitive Machines, the company that built the lander, said it was still generating solar power on Wednesday. During a press conference, the company released new photos that showed at least one broken landing leg on the six-legged spacecraft. The lander touched down near the moon’s south pole last Thursday, but then tilted over on its side. The company plans to put the lander to “sleep” later Wednesday, then see if it can be awakened in three weeks, once lunar night ends.
