Bucks vs. Cavaliers 135-95

The game between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 9th, 2022, was a true spectacle of basketball prowess. The Bucks dominated the court from start to finish, ultimately defeating the Cavaliers with an impressive score of 135-95. This victory showcased the Bucks' exceptional skills and highlighted their status as one of the top teams in the league.

From tip-off, it was evident that the Bucks were determined to establish their dominance. Their offensive strategy was flawless, with players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton leading the charge. The team's ball movement was impeccable, creating numerous scoring opportunities for their teammates. Additionally, their defensive efforts were commendable, effectively shutting down any attempts by the Cavaliers to gain momentum.

The Cavs are in the midst of their longest winning streak this season, and they have gone 11-3 since announcing Dec. 15 starting point guard Darius Garland (jaw surgery) and starting forward Evan Mobley (knee surgery) would miss significant time.

One of those three defeats occurred on Dec. 29, when the Cavs fell 119-111 to the visiting Bucks.

Bucks stars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard scored 34 and 31 points, respectively.

The seven-time All-Star was also on the injury report before Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings, but he played and scored 27 points in Milwaukee's 143-142 overtime win.

Antetokounmpo, 29, had played in 29 consecutive games, his longest streak since playing 31 straight in the 2020-21 season. He is not expected to be out for an extended period.

Although Antetokounmpo was out, the Bucks got back forward Jae Crowder, who had been out since Nov. 11 with a torn adductor muscle. Crowder had 15 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal in 19 minutes in his return.

Even if the Bucks only land Antetokounmpo and Lillard on the Eastern Conference team, guard Malik Beasley is making his case to be part of All-Star weekend as the league’s top three-point shooter. Heading into Wednesday, Beasley is leading the NBA by making 48.1% of his threes. He is just ahead of former Bucks guard and current Phoenix Sun Grayson Allen (48%). Beasley is two games away from breaking Ray Allen’s club record of 12 games with five or more made three-pointers, set in 2000-01 and challenging Dell Curry’s single-season Bucks record for three-point shooting (47.6% in 1998-99).
