The recent news of the passing of actress Cindy Morgan at the age of 69 has left a void in the entertainment industry. Known for her remarkable talent and captivating performances, Morgan's contributions to film and television will forever be cherished. This essay aims to celebrate her life, highlighting her achievements and impact on the industry.
Cindy Morgan began her acting career in the late 1970s, quickly making a name for herself with memorable roles that showcased her versatility. Her breakthrough came with the iconic character Lacey Underall in the comedy classic "Caddyshack." Morgan's portrayal of the seductive yet comedic character earned her critical acclaim and endeared her to audiences worldwide.
Morgan gained notoriety for her performance as blonde bombshell Lacey in the 1980 sports comedy “Caddyshack,” starring Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Rodney Dangerfield.
“‘Caddyshack’ was my first film and I’ll say that the end product was so completely different, it was originally about the caddies,” Morgan said in a 2012 interview. “So at first, I had nothing to lose to audition. It was fun. All I did was focus on making the person sweat. Look ’em in the eye, do that thing many women know how to do.”
Morgan will likely best be remembered for playing Lacey Underall in the famous 1980 comedy opposite Chevy Chase, Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield — portraying the country club owner's niece who captures the attention of pretty much every male character.
She had quite a few scenes in there ... and was memorable as the key temptress in the flick. There's one notable scene she shared with Chase, where she tried seducing him at a party.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office confirms Morgan died of natural causes.
