Broncos 24, Bills 22, Broncos win third straight

The Buffalo Bills had four turnovers in their Monday Night Football loss to the Denver Broncos. After scoring a go-ahead touchdown to take a one point lead with less than 90 seconds in the game, a pass interference called against Taron Johnson set the Broncos up for a game-winning field goal to end the game up 24-22.

Broncos kicker Wil Lutz missed the initial attempt, but the Bills were flagged for having 12 players on defense and Lutz took advantage of the second opportunity.

The Bills fall to 5-5 on the season and slide to 10th in the AFC standings.

Josh Allen threw for 177 yards and a touchdown and added a score on the ground. The quarterback had three turnovers: a fumble and two interceptions.

The Broncos defense was quick to make its imprint on the game, as its defense stripped James Cook on the game's very first play to give the offense the ball near the 20-yard line. The Broncos got their second turnover of the night on the Bills' second possession, as Justin Simmons snatched a tipped pass midway through the first quarter.

The Broncos are a new team. They started the season 1-5 and have won three in a row since then. The defense, which had a horribly embarrassing performance giving up 70 points to the Miami Dolphins early this season, shut out the Bills for most of the first half as part of its shocking transformation. It seemed weird when the Broncos didn't trade anyone at the deadline, but now we see why.

The Bills are going the other way. They made several mistakes to let the Broncos stay in the game, but it still seemed like Buffalo would pull out a win when they took a 22-21 lead on a Josh Allen touchdown run inside of the two-minute warning. But the 2023 Bills are finding ways to lose, and ended the night with a 5-5 record. They deserved to lose on Monday night, and have earned that .500 record.

Johnson was flagged for pass interference, giving Denver the ball at Buffalo's 17.

The Broncos (4-5) have won four of six since a 70-20 loss at Miami.

The Broncos had previously lost seven consecutive games played on Monday Night Football.
