The Blacksburg High School football team will not play its regular season finale this year after electing to forfeit Friday’s game against Salem. In an email sent to community members, Blacksburg Principal Chris Stewart cited a high number of injuries that have left a limited number of remaining active players, and that the forfeiture comes out of caution for those athletes. “The administration and coaching staff have determined that this decision is in the best interest of the safety and well-being of our student-athletes,” Stewart wrote in the email. “We also believe that this is the best decision for the long-term success of the program, we want to see our younger student-athletes
