Mother Lode State Lawmakers Join Push For Water Infrastructure Funding ...Middle East

Sacramento, CA – A group of bipartisan lawmakers, including two in the Mother Lode, is calling on Governor Gavin Newsom to add water storage funding to this year’s budget to combat the historic drought. Senator Andreas Borgeas (8th Dist.) and Assemblymember Frank Bigelow (5th Dist.) have signed on to a letter urging the governor to increase funding for strong water infrastructure to create a reliable water supply for the Central Valley. In the letter, it criticizes, “It has been over two months since the state’s budget was signed into law, and yet it still lacks any drought assistance.” The letter ends asking for a joint effort to fight the drought, stating, “Our state’s survival and economi
