A documentary about Olivia Newton-John has been confirmed.
The iconic singer and actress, who died in 2022, will be the star of the show, which has been picked up by Netflix, according to Deadline.
The documentary will explore "the music, life, and magic of beloved pop star and cultural phenom Olivia Newton-John," according to a press release. "In her own words, through vivid archival and via reminiscences from close friends and collaborators, we’ll follow Olivia’s journey as the world falls madly in love with her and she ascends to the height of fame, only to be confronted by challenges of epic proportions."
The currently untitled project will be directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Nicole Newnham.
Newton-John died in August 2022, more than 30 years after she was initially diagnosed with breast cancer. The Grease star had her first bout with the disease in 1992. In 2017, her cancer returned and had spread to her sacrum. She did her best to stay positive and even performed and made public appearances, but eventually the disease took its toll.
