Caltrans Completes Pedestrian Safety Project in Jackson ...Middle East

Jackson, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) recently completed a project to enhance pedestrian safety, mobility and accessibility on State Route 88 and Route 49 in the town of Jackson in Amador County. The project installed and upgraded curb ramps, sidewalks, and driveways, provided accessible asphalt concrete shoulders, as well as accessible pedestrian signals and push buttons that meet current Americans with Disabilities Act standards. The project limits were Route 88 from Broadway to the Route 49 junction, and Route 49 from North Fork Jackson Creek to Peek Street.
