Minor Injuries to San Andreas CHP Officer in Collision ...Middle East

San Andreas, CA…Ames was stopped at the posted stop sign, facing east on Magers Way, waiting to turn left onto northbound SR-49. CHP Officer Cooper was traveling south on SR-49 north of Magers Way at 55 miles per hour in a marked patrol vehicle. Ames drove forward and entered the traffic lane, directly into the path of the CHP vehicle. The Officer applied applied the brakes and turned to the left to avoid a collision. Officer Cooper was unable to avoid a collision and the front of the Tahoe impacted the left side of the Hyundai Elantra driven by Ames.
