Caltrans Completes Traffic Safety Improvement Project

Calaveras County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 10 completed a traffic safety improvement project on Thursday, June 3, 2021 on State Route 4 in Calaveras County. Crews installed four solar-powered flashing yellow beacons to improve motorists’ safety. Two beacons were placed facing westbound and eastbound traffic on the existing “Narrow Bridge” sign at the west branch of the Cherokee Creek Bridge between Appaloosa Road and Stallion Way. Two more beacons were installed facing eastbound traffic at Pool Station Road to alert motorists that the speed limit is 30 miles per hour where the road curves at this section of the highway.
