Pop Singer Cancels Concert After Losing Sight in One Eye: Very Disorienting and Scary

Singer Monica Martin is facing a health scare that forced her to cancel one of her recent performances.

On July 25, Martin took to Instagram to share that she had to cancel her performance with band Lake Street Drive because she needed to seek medical attention after what she assumed was an ocular migraine left her without vision in her left eye.

Sharing a photo from the doctor's waiting room with famous friends James Blake and Jameela Jamil, the singer-songwriter wrote, "What I thought was just an intense and painful ocular migraine slowly turned into my left eye going blind, I was advised to not fly home."

She went on to share that she'd been experiencing symptoms for more than two weeks, calling this time "very disorienting and scary."

Fortunately, it sounds like she has a solid support system around her to get through it.

"Been one of the scariest times but my best friends are taking care of me and also are hilarious and also after MUCH ADO have met an angel ophthalmologist, Dr. Shaman Dolly, god forbid you ever need to find him, London, I must let you know his name," she added.

Despite the fact that she had "gotten ct scans and bloodwork and yada yada" over seven trips to the hospital in that time, she said that she still feels "incredibly lucky."

Here's hoping Martin has a speedy recovery. This sounds like one difficult ordeal.
