India National Cricket Team young batting all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy got out in a bizarre manner during the second Test of the five-match series against the England National Cricket Team.
Nitish Kumar Reddy suffered from a brain-fade and let the England National Cricket Team pacer Chris Woakes rip the stumps apart at Headingley in Leeds on Wednesday, July 2.
The young all-rounder Reddy made his comeback to the Indian Test team after missing out on the previous game against England at Headingley in Leeds.
India preferred to go with Shardul Thakur as the pace-bowling all-rounder in that match, and the Mumbai veteran was unable to make a big impact across all four innings.
The Gautam Gambhir-led team management was quick to make a big move and drop Shardul Thakur for the second Test, making way for Nitish Kumar Reddy in the playing XI.
Reddy was given the opportunity to bat at No.6 with Karun Nair being promoted to No.3 as Sai Sudharsan was axed. The 22-year-old all-rounder came out to bat after the dismissal of Rishabh Pant in the 61st over and got dismissed in the next over itself.
On the fourth ball of the 62nd over, veteran pacer Chris Woakes bowled a good length ball outside off-stump to Nitish Kumar Reddy, who suffered a brain-fade, thinking there was no threat to the stumps.
Nitish Kumar Reddy offered no shot to that delivery and the ball shaped in sharply to rattle his stumps. The all-rounder was dismissed for 1 run off 6 balls.
