Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) and Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) officers in 16 districts began an indefinite mass leave on Tuesday to protest the assault on Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Ratnakar Sahoo on June 30.
The protest covers Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Rayagada, Deogarh, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Balasore, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, and Jharsuguda.
The officers demand strict action against those responsible for the attack and have vowed to continue the strike until visible measures are taken.
Despite assurances from Chief Minister Mohan Majhi during a meeting with the OAS Association, the officers proceeded with the mass leave.
Meanwhile, the Commissionerate Police arrested two more individuals linked to the incident.
The attack on the BMC official has triggered widespread anger among bureaucrats, raising concerns about administrative security, political interference, and law enforcement responsiveness.
