Costco Fans are Willing to Travel 16 Hours for Flavorful International Drop: Why Cant We Have Nice Things?

Thanks to the Internet's uncanny ability to make the world feel gargantuan and minuscule enough to fit into the palm of our hand at the same time, we often happen upon things in other countries we wish we could experience for ourselves. Universal healthcare and basic human rights come to mind, but we’ll save that soapbox for another day. More often than not, the things we’re envious of come to us in food form, causing us to salivate through our phone screens before ultimately heading to Google to find out where we can find some version of the international culinary delicacy we just witnessed as close to us as possible.

Think: the ridiculously viral Dubai chocolate bar or the fact that we won’t get to experience Crust Club unless we travel to Utah. It’s both infuriating and the thing that continues to fuel our wanderlust, giving us a reason to travel the globe and taste everything the world has to offer. Of course, one of the biggest harbringers of our incessant FOMO is non other than the beloved bulk shopping destination, Costco and their latest mouthwatering find in Mexico is the mash up we never knew we needed.

While it’s not uncommon to find region favorites and limited run treats at Costco stores across the globe, some more than others entice us to get another stamp on our passport. Such is the case with the revelation that you can grab a ready made tray of Chicken Mole Stuffed Croissants straight from our neighbors to the south and like everyone else on the r/Costco Reddit-thread, I’m already planning my next trip. According to u/bobrep you can snag hefty trays of the hybrid cuisine mashup for $178 Mexican Pesos or about $9.50 USD.

Buttery, flaky pastry generously filled with rich and complex chicken mole—what more can you ask for? No wonder fans are saying, “BRB, I'll be back in 16 hours.” “I would not be able to stop eating them. ?” said one person. “I'm so jealous. Those sound so amazing,” someone else admitted. It looks like we know where we’re headed on our next vacation, but we’ll also settle for “a monthly rotating pre-made section that highlights foods from other Costcos” like one very smart shopper recommended.

Now if only we could get Costco to bring back combo pizza, we’d wouldn’t ask for anything else.
