Investigative journalist Martin Scarsden is back in action but this time making inquiries much close to home and his heart in the second season of Scrublands.
Luke Arnold stars as Scarsden who heads to his hometown to relax and finds himself caught up in a murder investigation in which his girlfriend is the main suspect.
Based on the books by Chris Hammer, the Australian television series Scrublands: Silver comes to BBC Two this week and picks up a year after the life-changing events of season one.
When his childhood friend Jasper Speight is murdered, Scarsden is thrust into a race against time to prove partner Mandy did not do it.

Luke Arnold reprises his role as Martin Scarsden, an award-winning investigative journlaist.
The Australian actor, 41, is best-known for playing John Silver in the US series Black Sails and the late singer Michael Hutchence in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart.
He has also starred as Lewis Hayes in Home and Away, Bass Shepherd in Salvation and Captain Billy Millais in Nautilus.
Bella Heathcote
Bella Heathcote plays Mandy Bond (Photo: David Dare Parker/Easy Tiger Productions/BBC)Bella Heathcote plays Many Bond, the local bookshop owner in the first series who has become Martin’s partner.
Heathcote, 38, rose to fame as Amanda Fowler in the soap opera Neighbours.
She has starred in The Man in the High Castle, Strange Angel, Pieces of Her and Caught.
On film, she has appeared in In Time, Dark Shadows, Fifty Shades Darker and Relic.

Sarah Roberts plays journalist Beth Ramachandran, a friend and colleague of Martin who helps him investigate the murder of his childhood best pal.
Roberts, 40, is a soap opera veteran who played Clare Henderson in Neighbours and Willow Harris in Home and Away.
She has also appeared in INXS: Never Tear Us Apart and the 2013 film Felony.

The Australian actor was the host of the long-running children’s programme Play School.
He played Lewis Rigg in Home and Away and Michael Anderson in The Alice.
More recently he has starred in Black Comedy and The Artful Dodger.

The fictional town of Port Silver, home to Martin Scarsden, comes to life with the help of Augusta in Western Australia.
Actors and crew spent seven weeks filming there last year.

“The locals couldn’t have been more welcoming to our cast and crew of 90 who became honorary Augustans for seven weeks.”
Among the other locations in the state used to form the backdrop of the series are Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse at the south-western tip of Western Australia, the iconic, round City of Perth Library and Glenarty Road farm and winery near Augusta.
When is Scrublands: Silver on and how many episodes are there?
Scrublands: Silver will air on BBC Two on Monday 30 June at 9pm. This is the first of four episodes of this series, the second will be broadcast on Tuesday 1 July in the same time slot. And then the third and fourth episodes will go out the following week on Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 July.
All four installments are also available to watch on the BBC iPlayer, as is the first series of Scrublands.
