Bet of the day – Benfica to qualify for Club World Cup quarter-finals – 5/4

Chelsea have already suffered a defeat to Flamengo in the Club World Cup and while they secured their passage to the last 16 with a routine 3-0 win over Esperance Tunis, Benfica look set to provide a much stiffer test for Enzo Maresca’s men.

The Eagles have grown into the competition having recovered from a two-goal deficit to draw against Boca Juniors in their opener and then make the headlines by beating Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.

Benfica’s only defeats inside 90 minutes in their last 27 matches have come in the Champions League against Barcelona, while Chelsea are struggling with inconsistency and it is perhaps concerning that Cole Palmer has scored just one goal in his last 25 appearances for the Blues.

With four of Benfica’s last six matches finishing as draws, it could pay to keep the stalemate onside and back the Portuguese outfit to eventually get through to the quarter-finals.

Special of the day – Acca: Panama, Mexico and San Diego all to win – 37/10

Three teams should be combined for a Saturday acca with two of the matches taking place in the Concacaf Gold Cup.

Honduras have recovered from an opening 6-0 defeat to Canada by beating arch-rivals El Salvador and Curacao to make the last eight, but they look unlikely to offer much against Panama who have won six of their last seven matches.

Mexico have their eyes on a 10th Gold Cup triumph and should have too much for guests Saudi Arabia, who had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Trinidad & Tobago last time.

In the MLS, Western Conference leaders San Diego, who have lost one of their last nine games, should see off Dallas who have tasted victory in just one of their last eight.

Long shot of the day – Jose Lopez to score last in Palmeiras vs Botafogo – 13/2

Palmeiras enjoy a four-point advantage over Botafogo in the Brazilian League standings and should see them off in pursuit of a Club World Cup quarter-final.

And the bet of the game for their meeting in Philadelphia is to get with Palmeiras forward Jose Lopez to score at any time.

The 24-year-old has made two of his three appearances as a substitute in this competition but has still been in the heart of the action, scoring in the 2-0 victory over Al Ahly and registering a total of eight shots on goal.

Lopez represents some strong value to score last and send his side into the quarter-finals.
