Tyson Fury’s shock retirement announcement came after a second loss to Oleksandr Usyk last year.
Should he choose to make a return to the ring, ‘The Gypsy King’ has now been offered a world title shot.
The World Boxing Council (WBC) president, Mauricio Sulaiman, confirmed that the 36-year-old will be offered a guaranteed immediate world title fight, should he decide to make a return to boxing.
Speaking to Action Network, Sulaiman said: “If Tyson decides to come back to boxing, he always has a door open with the WBC.
“He will always be number one, so absolutely [we will give him a world title shot if he returns] because he is top of the top.
“He carried boxing through the dark times of the pandemic, and Tyson is the one who elevated the sport, and he’s the one who got Saudi Arabia to look into boxing.”
Just a few weeks after his second loss to Usyk in the ring, Fury shocked the world by announcing his retirement.
Following the defeat, many had hoped that Fury would go head-to-head with Anthony Joshua.
Amid reports of Fury potentially ending his retirement, speculation continues to grow on whether or not he will enter the ring with long-term rival Joshua.
Fury has since been seen training with his coach SugarHill Steward.
In footage recently shared by the Brit, he says: “Just in the gym, happened to bump into somebody you might know,” before the camera pans towards SugarHill.
then ended with an exciting ‘You know what’s coming’ being stated by Fury.

Although ‘AJ’ is set to make his return to the ring later this year following surgery on his elbow.
Providing an update to BoxingScene last month, Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, said: “He’s had the operation, which went very well, and now he’s just sort of rehabbing it.
“I believe about six weeks till he can punch again properly, and that kind of lends itself to a September, October, November fight.
