Aaron Rodgers is not ready to commit again.
The 41-year-old NFL star, who recently signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers after two less-than-ideal seasons with the New York Jets, is offering new insight into his retirement plans—quieting speculation about whether he’ll continue playing.
The former Green Bay Packers quarterback, who recently revealed he got married this spring (though he’s remained tight-lipped about to whom), appeared Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show, as he regularly does. During the chat, Rodgers admitted the 2025–26 season is likely his last in the NFL.
“I’m pretty sure this is it,” Rodgers said. “That’s why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn't need to, you know, put any extra years on that or anything. So, uh, for the career that I've had—I've played 20 freaking years—you know, like it's been a long run and I've enjoyed it. And what better place to finish than in one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL with Mike Tomlin and a great group of leadership and great guys in a city that expects you to win.”
