Watch: Ravindra Jadeja explodes, brutally scolds Shardul Thakur for sloppy fielding on Day 5 of Leeds Test

India National Cricket Team veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was left angry looking at all-rounder Shardul Thakur's lazy fielding effort during the first Test against the England National Cricket Team.

Shardul Thakur displayed a poor effort on the field during the fifth and final day of the Test series opener at Headingley in Leeds on Tuesday, June 24.

The incident happened during the 62nd over innings when Ravindra Jadeja was bowling to the England National Cricket Team superstars Ben Stokes and Joe Root.

On the fourth ball of the 62nd over, spinner Ravindra Jadeja bowled a full-length delivery to Joe Root, who flicked it towards the right at mid-on.

Shardul Thakur, who was stationed there, overran the ball and slipped in the process. He was unable to collect the ball, which went towards his left.

Thakur suffered a brain-fade after slipping as he didn't show a good commitment and took a long time to get up and chase the ball. This allowed Joe Root and Ben Stokes to complete three runs.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was left fuming looking at Shardul Thakur's error on the field and gave him a brutal bashing. Even though Thakur tried explaining to him that he slipped, Jadeja didn't go kind and screamed at him furiously.

Earlier in the innings in the 55th over, Shardul Thakur produced an exceptional double-wicket over to help India stage a mini-comeback in the match. Shardul Thakur picked up two huge wickets for his team by dismissing Ben Duckett for 149 and Harry Brook for a duck.

And two unlikely bowlers got the wickets in Krishna and Thakur - Nasser Hussain

Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett stitched up a 188-run stand while chasing 371 runs, providing England with a great start. Talking about the openers on Sky Sports, Nasser Hussain said that Ben Duckett is one of the best all-format cricketers in the world. He said:

"Duckett is right up there in the conversation of the best all-format cricketer in the world. He was very calm and the shots he was playing were great. His reverse-sweep was incredible. I think India got the field wrong to him. Crawley and Duckett make an outstanding combination with their different styles and heights."

Nasser Hussain also reckoned that unlikely bowlers got the breakthroughs for India. He said:

"I think the previous break came at a good time for India. They needed to regroup and think through their plans but once they got Duckett the door was open. And two unlikely bowlers got the wickets in Krishna and Thakur. Krishna got the ball nipping both ways."

While talking about the situation of the match, the pace-bowling legend Stuart Broad said that England are under no pressure to score runs quickly. He stated:

"Because of Duckett and Crawley’s innings earlier in the day, England are under no pressure to score runs quickly. It might go darker later as the clouds come closer but there is plenty of time left in the day to score so few runs."
