Real Housewives of New Jerseystar Dolores Catania underwent heart surgery after doctors diagnosed her with atrial fibrillation (commonly called AFib).
"About six months ago, I was driving when I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my chest that radiated down my arm. As women, we tend to ignore aches and pains, brushing them off as part of everyday life- but this felt different," Catania captioned an Instagram post on June 20.

"After that, I started experiencing frequent flutters in my chest, sometimes waking me up at night. Eventually, I got scared enough to call my cardiologist. He gave me a heart monitor to wear, and within hours, he called to tell me I had AFib," she continued.

Catania went on to explain that she is now six weeks out from her surgery and she's feeling great. She also encouraged other women to listen to their bodies, especially when it comes to things that could be related to heart health.
The reality star received a great deal of support from friends and fans alike.
"We need our Dolo. You always have the best doctors," wrote RHONJ star Melissa Gorga.
"So happy you are ok!! We love you and your big heart!! So important to share," read a message from RHONJ star Margaret Josephs.
"I’m so happy to hear that you’re ok. Your heart holds so much love for others that it just needed a little tune up," a third Instagram user said.
"So happy you are doing well and this is great that you are sharing this," a fourth added.
