Butter Yellow Nails Are Trending With Your Favorite Celebrities ...Middle East

Be prepared to take your obsession with butter - yes, butter - to new heights. You're about to see "butter nails" everywhere and before long, you'll be requesting the shade at the nail salon for yourself.

Celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik originally posted a picture to Instagram of one the many looks he's done on Selena Gomez with the caption, "Trend alert: Butter Manis" back in 2024. We're not sure if he has a crystal ball, but he was right. In early 2025, KitchenAid dubbed butter yellow the "color of the year," and since then, beauty trends that feature the bright summer shade have skyrocketed.

Gomez's nails are painted a soft, buttery hue perfect for warm weather and that's exactly why the duo chose it. "The inspiration behind the look was Selena suggesting a happy color," Bachik says. And as predicted, more celebs are following suit with the butter yellow theme this summer.

For example, the July/August 2025 issue of "Rolling Stone" featured butter yellow queen Sabrina Carpenter decked out from head to toe in the hue. Most recently, Hailey Bieber posted an Instagram with the caption "lemon drop martinis all summer long," and had her entire post dedicated to the color. Bieber's nails featured subtle grey dots on top of the yellow polish for even more dimension.

As for the nail shapes that look best with a butter manicure, Bachik has a favorite. "My signature soft, round shape is perfect for this trend," he says. "The longer, the better." To get the look Bachik used the Tweezerman & Tom Bachik Nail Care Travel Set ($29) to perfect the shape of the nail, followed by two coats of Mia Secret's Gelux Gel Butter Polish ($13). Other great butter nail polish options include Chanel Le Vernis Polish in Ovni ($32), OPI Nail Lacquer in Blinded by the Ring Light ($12), and the Essie Nail Polish in All Fun and Games ($10). While your nail art preferences are your own, Bachik does suggest keeping it simple for this look. "A little shimmer never hurts anyone, although I do think the color speaks for itself," he says. You know what they say: know the rules to break them, so if you're more of a maximalist who likes 3D designs, Baroque motifs, and more, feel free to let your creative juices run wild.
