Tyson Fury comeback fight ended in brutal fashion as rival forced to quit on stool

Tyson Fury made an explosive return to the ring after three years out, leaving Sefer Seferi with no choice but to quit.

Fury is currently retired from the sport after back-to-back defeats against Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury battered Seferi in a truly routine wingetty

But he has been heavily linked with a comeback as the months have rolled on, including a two-fight deal with Anthony Joshua.

Terms have yet to become official, and Fury has shut down hopes of a return, but the Briton is certainly no stranger to a comeback.

The ‘Gypsy King’ beat Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 in one of the greatest victories from a British fighter on foreign soil.

But his mental health took a significant turn for the worse and the highs of the victory reached lows, with the rematch failing to take place.

He piled on weight and it appeared his boxing career could be over as the months went on.

But in one of the most inspiring stories in sporting history, Fury shed 140lbs [ten stone] to return into fighting shape.

And he announced his comeback fight alongside new promoter Frank Warren, as he would take on Seferi in hometown Manchester.

The Albanian had one defeat to his name but was overmatched, with Fury keen to get back to winning ways after three years away from the ring.

But he showed little signs of ring rust as he battered away any cobwebs with a dominant display.

And his 924 days of inactivity in the ring were short lived as he upped the ante in the fourth round.

He landed big shots which crashed into the temple and Seferi looked out of his depth as the bell sounded.

And after returning to his stool in the corner, his team saw no need to continue the contest.

Seferi was pulled out and Fury was back, in what started a simply sensational spell in his career.

Fury became a huge name in the US as he rose back to the world level mix in a trilogy with Deontay Wilder.

He captured the WBC title in their 2020 rematch before concluding their rivalry with a second consecutive victory one year later.

It appeared Fury would retire again after beating Dillian Whyte in 2022, but he once again opted to reverse his decision.

Fury is now retired again after losing to UsykMikey Williams/Top Rank

He first fought Derek Chisora and Francis Ngannou, before attempting to reach the pinnacle of the sport in 2024 in two fights with Usyk.

But the two defeats spelled an end to his dominant undefeated streak, and a crossroads is now his current predicament.

Some huge opportunities still loom for Fury including mega-money clashes with long-term rival Joshua.

But for now it appears his time as one of the sport’s biggest stars is behind him.
