A new documentary will honor the legacy of beloved The Young and the Restless star Kristoff St. John, six years after his untimely passing. The actor died in February 2019 of heart disease.
Fans of The Young and the Restless will get an inside look at the man behind Neil Winters. Fallen Giant Films, owned by Randy J. Goodwin, is producing the film.

Goodwin is best known for roles on TheVampire Diaries and Girlfriends. Meanwhile, Bobby Razak is set to direct the documentary, titled Kristoff.
“Kristof St. John. I know a lot of you know who he is. He played Neil on The Young and the Restless for many years. He’s one of my closest friends, passed away a couple of years ago, but his story is incredible,” Goodwin shared in an Instagram video announcing the film.

According to Deadline, Goodwin and St. John were roommates back in the day. St. John’s ex-wife, Mia St. John, is also a partner in the documentary. She knows firsthand the struggles the soap star went through, especially after the couple tragically lost their son Julian in 2014 after a lifelong battle with mental illness.
Kristoff will explore the actor’s personal life, mental health struggles, and success in the entertainment industry. Throughout his career, St. John won two Daytime Emmy Awards and 10 NAACP Image Awards.
St. John had a powerful impact on the soap world, not just on The Young and the Restless but also during his time on Generations.Kristoff will also explore his legacy in the daytime industry.
While an official release date hasn’t been revealed, Goodwin shared they are pushing for a 2026 premiere.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
