WARNING! Ginny & Georgia Season 3 spoilers ahead!
Season 4 of Ginny & Georgiais shaping up to be even more intense (if you can imagine), and it looks like we’re in for some major changes.
Creator Sarah Lampert teased to TV Line in an article shared on Wednesday, June 11, that while Season 3 took things to the extreme with Georgia’s trial, Marcus’s struggles, and Ginny’s personal growth, the upcoming season will offer a shift in tone.
Lampert revealed that Season 4 brings a more hopeful vibe, saying to the outlet, “Season 3 was always going to be our most explosive, darkest season. It had to be. We knew we wanted a big murder trial. We knew we wanted things to go viral.” But it doesn’t mean that will always be the case for the hit Netflix series. “Season 4, I think, will be tonally a little bit lighter, a little more hopeful still, with the tone balance that we always play with,” Lampert revealed.
However, despite this shift, the complexities of the characters won’t change. Lampert hinted at a possible reconciliation for Ginny and her friends after a difficult falling out in Season 3. After cutting ties with Maxine (Sara Waisglass), Ginny (Antonia Gentry) set boundaries that left their friendship in a tense place. “She has to protect her peace,” Lampert explained. “She’s not mad at Max. She loves Max, but she’s not going to go there. It really is just a miscommunication… I am hopeful that they can rebuild.”

Fans are also curious about the fallout from Austin’s (Diesel La Torraca) false testimony, which will impact his character’s arc in the next season. Lampert noted that Austin’s experiences in the trial and his shifting role within the family will provide a fresh perspective. “For the first time, and we see it really this season and especially in Episode 10, he starts to have a real point of view, and he starts to really enter the family dynamic in a new way,” Lampert says of Austin's character in Season 3.
With some new school musicals on the horizon and the possibility of some reconciliation among the characters, Ginny & Georgia fans have plenty to look forward to in Season 4. But for now, grab some popcorn and catch up on Season 3, which premiered on Netflix on June 5.
