Bachelor Nation’s Vanessa Grimaldi Reveals She Suffered 2nd Miscarriage

Bachelor Nation star Vanessa Grimaldi suffered a second miscarriage less than one year after announcing her first pregnancy loss.

Grimaldi, 37, took to Instagram with a slideshow titled, “When the Heart Breaks Again: Miscarriage No. 2,” on Monday, June 9.

“This is my second miscarriage. Saying that out loud still feels surreal,” she began. “Especially finding out during my ultrasound. Again. It adds another layer to the grief, one that’s heavier, more complicated, and harder to put into words.”

The former reality star, who was briefly engaged to Nick Viall after season 21 of The Bachelor, added that she found a “sense of peace” in her and husband Joshua Wolfe’s 2-year-old son Winston’s room.

“Sitting in the quiet here, surrounded by reminders of his laughter, love, and life. It’s comforting in a way I can’t quite explain,” she continued. “I’m so incredibly grateful for him. My healthy, joyful little boy. And at the same time, my heart aches for the baby I never got to meet. I keep thinking about Winston as a newborn. All the firsts, the sleepy snuggles, the tiny milestones. l imagined getting to live through those moments again.”

Grimaldi added, “But instead, I’m left with the silence of what could have been. Again.”

Grimaldi said that her “mind feels foggy and full all at once” and noted that she’s keeping busy as much as possible to keep her mind off the loss.

“Grief is strange. It sneaks in, even in the middle of gratitude,” she wrote before giving a shoutout to Josh, 40, for buying her an iced cappuccino, something she hadn’t had since she learned she was pregnant. She said her husband’s small act of kindness helped her feel “like the first step back to myself. A small moment of comfort in a sea of ache.”

Grimaldi ended her message with a reminder to fellow moms who may be “navigating this kind of heartbreak.”

“I’m sending you so much love and comfort. And maybe the next time you’re sipping an iced cappuccino, you’ll be reminded that you’re not alone in this. I see you, I’m grieving with you. You’re not alone,” she concluded.

In her caption, Grimaldi also added a “gentle reminder” that “miscarriage is more common than people realize.”

“About 1 in 4 known pregnancies ends in miscarriage, and many more happen before a pregnancy is even confirmed,” she wrote. “It doesn’t make the pain any easier, but knowing this grief is shared by so many can be a quiet kind of comfort. You are part of a larger community of women who have loved deeply, lost painfully, and are finding ways to heal.”

Grimaldi’s announcement about her second miscarriage came nine months after she revealed her first pregnancy loss. In September 2024, she posted a slideshow including screenshots of fans asking her if she and Josh had been planning to have baby No. 2. Grimaldi shared that she had found out she was pregnant a few months prior, but she also experienced a miscarriage.

“It was a long few months of allowing my body to let go … ultrasounds, blood tests, doctor appointments and many conversations with family members, friends and sometimes strangers,” she wrote, in part. “It was a hard yet bonding process that made me feel less alone and ultimately helped me heal.”

She added, “If you’re reading this and need someone to listen to your story, I am here for you. You are not alone. It is more common than you think, and I promise, with time, you will regain hope again.”
