Two teens charged in connection to shooting on Clifford Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A 14-year-old and a 15-year-old are facing charges related to a shooting on Clifford Avenue that happened on May 29, that left a 17-year-old boy with a non-life threatening injury.

Rochester Police say on May 29 at around 5:45 p.m., they responded to Joseph Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation, where officers were then directed to Clifford Avenue. As they investigated, police say the 17-year-old walked into Rochester General Hospital.

    On June 5, members of the Violence Prevention Section and the U.S. Marshal’s New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force took the 14-year-old boy into custody.

    On Monday, police say the 15-year-old boy turned himself in to the Rochester Police Department.

    Both of the teens have been charged with attempted murder in the second-degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree. Both have also been remanded to the Monroe County Children’s Center.
