ESPN’s predictive model, Football Power Index, has been updated ahead of the 2025 college football season.
FPI has projections in a number of categories, including SEC Championship odds, College Football Playoff chances and more. By looking at SEC title percentages, we can infer FPI’s projected order of finish for SEC programs in 2025.
Here’s a look at FPI’s predictions for the SEC in 2025:
Texas | 34.1% Georgia | 26.9% Alabama | 17.2% Texas A&M | 4.3% Tennessee | 4.2% LSU | 3.5% Ole Miss | 2.8% Auburn | 1.8% South Carolina | 1.8% Oklahoma | 1.2% Florida | 1% Mizzou | 0.6% Arkansas | 0.5% Kentucky | 0.1% Vanderbilt | 0% Mississippi State | 0%Texas and Georgia, who met in last year’s SEC title game, are by far the favorites to make it back to Atlanta in 2025. Alabama is the only other SEC program with more than a 5% chance to win the SEC Championship this year, according to FPI.
Texas A&M, Tennessee and LSU headline the list of long shots as they all come in with more than 3% equity in the conference title race entering the year.
If you compare these percentages to the latest SEC Championship odds from BetMGM, the best value bet appears to be Georgia. The Bulldogs are priced at +375, which translates to implied odds of 21.05%. That’s well under the 26.9% projection from FPI.
Week 1 of the 2025 college football season begins in late August.
