This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Southpoint, is Bratton Holmes.
Holmes is a Latin teacher at Smith Middle School and the quiz bowl coach at Smith. He guided the Cyclones to their first national championship. But for Holmes, it’s not about the wins, it’s about watching the kids grow. Quiz Bowl isn’t just about intelligence; it teaches the kids how to work as a team and how to say calm and not lose their cool in close games.
