NEWTON, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- One person is dead and another is critically injured after a shooting at a motorcycle club, according to the Newton Police Department.
Just after 2 a.m. on Sunday, officers responded to a shooting at the Outlaw Motorcycle Club House at 1605 North Main Avenue. When they arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds who were both taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Sadly, one victim was pronounced dead of their injuries. The other victim was taken by helicopter to a medical center in Charlotte, where they are in critical condition, officials said.
The public is asked to avoid the area as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made yet; however, "the scene is secure and there is no immediate threat," police said.
