George Clooney is ushering in summer in the best way possible—by swapping out his usual glitz and glam formal attire for a more breathable, sporty ensemble, and ditching the red carpet in favor of green, grassy fields (even if only for a moment).
The 64-year-old recently switched up his look for an athletic outing, and looked insanely youthful while doing it. In photos from Thursday, June 5, the beloved Hollywood mainstay was spotted playing softball with his Good Night and Good Luck team in Central Park, showcasing his athleticism during a Broadway Show League game.

He took on various roles on the field—pitching, batting, and catching—demonstrating enthusiasm and camaraderie with fellow Broadway cast members. Spectators captured moments of his performance, highlighting his seamless blend into the theater community’s sporting tradition.

Clooney’s involvement in the Broadway Show League coincides with his acclaimed performance in the stage adaptation of his 2005 film Good Night, and Good Luck, where he portrays journalist Edward R. Murrow. The play, which began previews at the Winter Garden Theatre on March 12, 2025, has been a box office success, even setting a record by surpassing $4 million weekly. Clooney’s portrayal has earned him a Tony nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Play, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.

(Photo by MEGA/GC Images)In preparation for his Broadway role, Clooney underwent a noticeable transformation, dyeing his signature salt-and-pepper hair to a darker shade. He humorously acknowledged the change during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, stating, “It’s bad. It’s still dark on top, but it’s gray at the bottom. So you get that really nice-looking, grow-out of grey.”
“I’m 64… midlife is a little stretch,” he added, lightheartedly addressing the mid-life crisis jokes that followed.
Beyond the stage (and field), Clooney continues to balance his professional endeavors with family life. He and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, reside in the UK with their twins, largely enjoying a quieter life away from the spotlight.
