Official: RCB to Hold Victory Parade Despite Bengaluru Police Denial

Contrary to the recent reports, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have announced that a victory parade will take place on Wednesday (June 4) to celebrate their historic IPL triumph.

Recent reports stated that the parade has been cancelled because the Bengaluru police did not give permission due to heavy traffic congestion in the city.

The franchise had earlier announced that the parade would begin at 3:30 PM IST, starting from Vidhana Soudha and concluding at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in the Garden City.

However, reports stated that the parade had been cancelled because the police did not give it the green light. The report also added that while there would be no parade, the players and the support staff would be felicitated at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

    RCB clinch maiden IPL title:

Coming to the game, the Bengaluru-based outfit beat Punjab Kings by 6 runs in a thrilling final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday to win their maiden IPL title. They have won the trophy after 17 years of disappointment and heartbreak.

RCB had played three finals before the recently concluded season and lost all of them. They played their first final in 2009 and lost against the now-defunct Deccan Chargers. In 2011, they suffered a loss against Chennai Super Kings before losing against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016.

RCB qualified for the final after almost a decade and went on to win the title. Batting first, the Rajat Patidar-led side posted a challenging total of 190/9 in 20 overs. In reply, Punjab Kings finished their innings on 184/7.
