Sabrina Carpenter is making her official return to music just in time for the summer!
The 26-year-old pop star confirmed that her new single "Manchild" would be released on Thursday, June 5 at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
The latest career update comes shortly after the "Espresso" singer posted a cheeky teaser of her trying to hitchhike in the middle of an abandoned highway across social media on June 2. In the clip, Carpenter wore a cropped, white shirt with cheeky denim shorts as she tried to flag down a ride on the road.

Carpenter confirmed the new single on Instagram and simply wrote "this one’s about you!!" in the caption. Fans were quick to speculate that the new single could put a spotlight on her year-long romance with Barry Keoghan, which ended back in December 2024, according to PEOPLE Magazine.
"Mind you he had a whole song as a warning," one fan wrote on Instagram comments, referencing Carpenter's track "Please Please Please" from her Grammy-winning album Short n' Sweet. The music video for the track featured Keoghan as Carpenter's love interest as she sang "Please Please Please / Don't prove them right."

Along with the new song, Carpenter seemingly teased that a new music video to go along with the release of "Manchild" and a vinyl for the new track. According to the official website, the new vinyl will also include a bonus track "inside of your head when you’ve just won an argument with a man."
