POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

TRESPASS: Caller at the corner of Talmage Road and Airport Park Boulevard reported at 6:57 a.m. May 29 that a man was refusing to leave. An officer responded and cited a 32-year-old Ukiah man for possession of drug paraphernalia and violating his probation. He was cited and released.

    ANIMAL BITE: Caller at Adventist Health Ukiah Valley reported at 8:38 a.m. May 29 that a patient had been bitten by an animal (species not identified). An officer responded and took a case report.

    CAMPING IN THE PLAZA: An officer cited a woman in the 300 block of South State Street at 8:08 p.m. May 29 for violating city camping codes.

    PUPPIES IN CAR: Caller on Village Circle reported at 11:56 a.m. May 30 that puppies were in a vehicle. An officer responded and reported that the dogs were “left in the care of the animal shelter.”

    ASSAULT: Caller in the 300 block of South Dora Street reported at 12:50 p.m. May 30 that an assault/battery had just occurred. An officer responded and took a case report.

    DUI: Caller at the intersection of East Perkins at South State streets reported at 5:42 p.m. May 30 that someone was possibly driving drunk in the area. An officer responded and arrested Jordan J. Bright, 34, of Ukiah, on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug and for driving on a license suspended/revoked for DUI. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

    MAN IN BUSHES: Caller in the 1200 block of South State Street requested at 8:53 p.m. May 30 a welfare check on a man in the bushes. An officer responded and arrested a 72-year-old Ukiah man for being drunk in public. He was booked into county jail.

    DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 911 call was placed in the 600 block of North State Street at 10:18 p.m. May 30. An officer responded and arrested Christian A. Pedersen, 24, of Ukiah, on suspicion of false imprisonment, domestic violence, damaging a communication device, violating a domestic violence order and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.

    WOMAN IN ROAD: Caller at the Building Bridges shelter reported at 12:13 a.m. May 31 that a woman was in the roadway. An officer responded and arrested a 33-year-old Fort Bragg woman on suspicion of battery on a first responder, being drunk in public and violating her probation. She was booked into county jail.

    Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper. The Daily Journal makes no exceptions.

    June 1 edition: In Sunday’s page 1 story about the One Heart Institute, some incorrect dates were given. The two public Virtuoso Concerts will take place at 7 p.m. on June 20 and 21. On June 20, a “One Heart Saxophone Night” will showcase Dr. Wenbo Yen, special guest saxophonists, Alex de Grassi and local pianist and all-things musical Spencer Brewer.
