MICHAEL Jordan will receive a $40 million figure thanks to his historic contributor role with NBC for the upcoming season.
Secret details have also been uncovered concerning the Chicago Bulls icon’s sports analyst contract.
This month, NBC Sports announced the addition of Jordan to its upcoming NBA coverage.
The NBA will return to NBC for the 2025-26 season as part of an 11-year, $76 billion broadcast deal with the network.
Since Jordan joined NBC’s coverage, there have been rumors that he has taken a $40 million per year deal.
The contract would make Jordan the highest-paid sports analyst of all time.
If the $40 million number is correct, it would beat Tom Brady‘s $37.5 million yearly salary with Fox Sports.
NBC and Jordan have yet to verify the figure.
However, there are secret details in Jordan’s contract that have emerged that have upset NBA fans.
Jordan will regularly share his opinions on the league, but he will not be a regular on the NBC and NBC show.
It was reported this month that the 62-year-old is “unlikely” to be a regular fixture during the upcoming season.
CNBC has also claimed Jordan will “appear in taped segments during the season to provide analysis that will air during pregame shows or halftime shows.”
Jordan enters his new analyst role after having a lack of experience in broadcasting.
He has thrown cold water on multiple media positions since his final retirement from the NBA in 2003, and rarely does interviews.
Due to Jordan’s net worth of around $4.5 billion, it’s not likely that a financial aspect is a reason he’s taken the new NBA analyst job.
Jordan likely wants to work for NBC – a network that covered him when he led the Bulls to six NBA titles in the 1990s.
“I am so excited to see the NBA back on NBC,” Jordan said about his new role with NBC in a video.

“I’m looking forward to seeing you all when the NBA on NBC launches this October.”
Jordan’s presence will surely popularize NBC’s NBA coverage.
He will be featured alongside other notable personalities, including Mike Tirico, Noah Eagle, Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, and Carmelo Anthony.
