COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A $2 million Ohio Lottery scratch-off sold at a Columbus gas station was won by an out-of-town resident.
The lottery announced that a Cleveland man claimed the top prize of the $300 Million Diamond Dazzler. In a news release, the organization said the $20 ticket was purchased at Sheetz #724, 975 E. Dublin Granville Rd. in Columbus.
In a break with most winners, the Northeast Ohio man chose the annuity option to collect his money. He will receive $80,000 annually for 25 years, equaling a take-home of $1,440,000 after mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28%.
The lottery noted that as of May 29, 10 top prizes remain in the game. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 3.33.
