ZION Williamson has been accused of rape in a lawsuit.
The New Orleans Pelicans star was named in the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles.
The suit was submitted to Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday.
The plaintiff claims to have been in a relationship with Williamson while he was in college at Duke.
She says the relationship became abusive after they began seeing each other.
The plaintiff accused Williamson of “abusive, controlling, and threatening behavior.”
Her legal team released a statement regarding the lawsuit against Williamson.
“We and our client do not want to litigate this case in the press,” Lanier Law Firm’s Sam Taylor said.
“However, I will say this is a very serious case as reflected in the Complaint filed in Los Angeles County.
“Our client looks forward to her day in court before a jury of her peers to obtain justice in this matter.”
